PRIDE SHOULD BE WELCOMING

Road of Rainbows was created with a simple belief: Pride should be welcoming, accessible, and nonprofit. What began as an idea for a more inclusive athletic event has grown into a celebration that brings together 100,000+ runners, walkers, spectators and visitors, from across New England. Every part of the event is designed to create space and empower people to participate in ways that feel authentic to them.

BUILT DIFFERENTLY

Gender-Neutral By Design

Every aspect of Road of Rainbows is intentionally gender-neutral, from registration through awards. By removing traditional gender divisions, we create an experience where participants are recognized for their accomplishments without requiring them to fit into predefined categories. Everyone is welcomed and celebrated equally.

ASL Interpreted

Pride should be heard by everyone. Key programming throughout the day includes ASL interpretation, helping make performances, announcements, and community moments more accessible for Deaf and hard-of-hearing attendees.

Community Access

Access is one of our core values. More than half of all participants receive free or discounted registration, and nonprofit organizations participate at no cost. We believe financial barriers should never prevent someone from celebrating Pride with their community.

Orgullo Latino

Orgullo Latino expands Road of Rainbows by celebrating Pride through Latin culture, language, music, and community. Featuring Spanish-language programming and Latin artists, it creates opportunities for even more people to experience Pride in ways that feel authentic and welcoming.

Pride Outside

The celebration continues long after the finish line. Pride Outside brings together live performances, local artists, community organizations, food, music, and thousands of attendees for an afternoon built around connection, celebration, and community.

Nonprofit Produced

Road of Rainbows is produced by Boston Theater Company, a nonprofit organization committed to creating meaningful experiences throughout the year. We believe Pride is more than a single month. It is a year-round commitment to visibility, belonging, education, wellness, and community.

MORE THAN A RACE

Road of Rainbows brings together a Pride 5K, Orgullo Latino, Pride Outside, live performances, artists, community organizations, and thousands of participants from across New England. What happens on race day is only part of the story.

Pride Should Benefit The Community

Road of Rainbows exists because we believe Pride is strongest when it invests in people.

Through artists, performers, educational initiatives, community events, and accessible participation programs, we work to create opportunities for people to connect, celebrate, and thrive.

When resources extend beyond event expenses, they help strengthen year-round LGBTQ+ programming through Boston Theater Company.

Supporting Road of Rainbows is an investment in both an extraordinary Pride celebration and the community that makes it possible.
